A VIKING VOYAGE TO A SAXON SETTLEMENT!

Form 3 Tatton Park Trip 2

As part of their learning on the Anglo Saxons and Vikings in History, Form 3 traversed across both space and time to the ancient settlement of Tatton - now Tatton Park. There they met two unique hosts; Tate the Chieftess of the village, and Uthred, son of Uthred, a Viking demanding his danegeld (money) from the village. In order to escape the threat of slavery, our Form Three's had to learn some essential villager and hunter skills in order to prove their worth. They got hands on with threshing, making braids to sell, deer stalking and even weapons training!
We had a fantastic time at Tatton Park, and can safely report that Uthred received his danegeld, so did not need our pupils as slaves this time!
