THE GREAT ANNUAL EGG RACE HOUSE COMPETITION

Great Egg Race

A beautiful, sunny Thursday morning welcomed the return of our annual Egg Race House Competition. During the Easter break our main school pupils had been set a Design Technology House Challenge of designing and constructing a device that could hurl a hard boiled egg to the furthest possible distance. Once again, in true Yarletian spirit, a fantastic array of devices lined up in readiness for the competition.

The results for the top three distances thrown are:
1st Place James Goodwin - 118m
2nd Place Grace Cornes - 52m
3rd Place Reuben Whiby-Samways - 41.6m

Each device was also awarded points for entering, the distance thrown and the overall design.

The overall house results are as follows:
1st Bishop - 27 points
2nd Knight - 22 points
3rd castle - 7 points Mrs Hamplett would like to say a big thank you to all the participants and their families for making this such an exciting and enjoyable challenge.
