GIRLS' HOCKEY HALF-TERM ROUND UP

Hockey Dec 2014.1

The girls have had an excellent hockey season, with notable improvements from everyone.

Teamwork has been a key focus for us this term as we strived to co-operate and support each other in each game. This is something that the seniors found particularly challenging but, with hard work from key players Olivia, Holly, Elizabeth and Tawana there were positive moments in each match despite losing 3 out of 4 fixtures. The U13 team particularly enjoyed the mixed match against Beech Hall where the boys were a welcome addition, even though they hadn't had much practice previously.  Our U10 squad struggled with their spacing at the start of the season but with help from our supporting mums (who must have lost their voices on some occasions) they worked hard and were rewarded with 4 wins, 2 losses and a draw. Well done to Grace T-R in defence, Jessica who worked relentlessly in the midfield and our top goal scorers Evi, Kirstie and Jemima. The U9's had their first try at hockey this term and enjoyed their fixtures against Birchfield and Denstone Junior School. Well done to all the girls with their efforts this term.
